Prescription workouts aim to improve patients’ fitness levels by increasing strength and flexibility and reducing pain.

Working out with our team allows patients access to a range of treatments and therapies concentrating on proper biomechanical form and movements, injury recovery and pain reduction.

These exercise prescriptions are developed around the patient, and they allow for improvement in performance through specific exercises designed to benefit each individual patient.

Dr. Josh and his team guide patients through their specific exercise prescriptions, explaining how to obtain the best results, how to avoid injury, and why these particular movements are beneficial to the body.

This knowledge allows patients to implement proper movements throughout their daily activities, and ensures they are performing the proper techniques with the correct form.

Diagnosis-Informed Workouts

Patients begin with a pain assessment, establishing a baseline of ability, pain and flexibility.

By establishing this baseline, we are able to document goals and improvements as they arise.

Exercise prescription allows for personalized fitness-related activities to be tailored to the needs of our patients, allowing them to set goals and work towards them.

Through guidance and training, patients are able to increase their strength and improve their flexibility, while being coached on the proper biomechanical methods of movement to prevent injury and pain.

Depending on the initial fitness level of the patient these goals may range from increasing their ability to go from sitting to standing independently, to being able to return to training for marathon running.

Just as each patient’s cases are individualized, so are the prescriptive fitness programs assigned to them – prioritizing patient ability and reducing further injury are common goals, but the level of exercise and physical ability differs substantially.

The customized programs are designed to decrease pain, so patients will not be pushed into that pain, but may experience some stretching and light muscle fatigue from usage; these processes are beneficial to healing and increasing physical abilities.
