Chiropractic/Treatment Services

Chiropractic Adjustments

– Chiropractic adjustment is utilized to treat neck, back and extremity pain.  This hands-on adjustment process reduces spinal problems, such subluxation, allowing for increased motion, flexibility, reduction in pain and optimizing the neuromuscular system.  This treatment alleviates pain and allows for proper movement and alignment throughout the entire body, including the back and legs.  Patients are passive during these gentle adjustments, allowing for pain-free diagnosis and treatment.

Exercise Rx

– Prescription workouts allow patients to improve their fitness levels by working with our team to complete techniques that emphasize proper form, increased strength and improved mobility. This allows patients to achieve goals, and then set new goals to work towards. These workouts may combine any number of treatments and circuits, prescribed specifically to aide in correcting, managing, and preventing further injury, pain or postural issues.

Orthopedic Assessment

– Using knowledge of the musculoskeletal system, peripheral vascular and neurological pathways, Dr. Josh uses orthopedic assessment to understand the intersecting and underlying issues causing pain. This assessment allows for the diagnosis of injuries to the muscular, skeletal or nervous system. It is performed by hands-on manipulation and movement of the body to assess and diagnose according to reaction, or lack thereof.

Acute Pain Management

– Acute pain is sudden, usually sharp or burning pain ranging from mild to intense. Acute pain can be treatable with the proper diagnosis and therapies, but when left undiagnosed can further degenerate into chronic pain. Acute pain management can include: manual manipulations, massage therapy, physical therapy and prescriptive exercise. The goal is to minimize the pain, heal the injury and prevent the development of further chronic pain issues.

Chronic Pain Management

– Chronic pain is recurrent pain, often associated with an injury or degeneration of the musculoskeletal system interacting with the nervous system. Because of these intersecting systems, managing chronic pain often entails treatments and therapies to address all three systems. In providing a holistic, whole-body system to manage chronic pain, Josh Duplessis, DC is able to address all components leading to the cause of pain.

Athletic Performance

– Athletes often suffer repetitive strain injuries or sustained physical injuries from accidents in their field. We offer diagnostic, training and treatment options for all types of injuries, focusing on restoring and improving athletic ability. These range from heat and massage therapy, manual therapy, physical therapy, corrective and prescriptive exercise, resistance and strength training and nutrition consultation.

Manual Therapy

– Our manual therapy treatment focuses on the musculoskeletal system, to treat and assess muscle pain, tightness, and weakness. This therapy is hands-on, but differs greatly from massage therapy, as it utilizes techniques to enhance and increase healing processes by correcting positions, releasing pressures, increasing joint movements and manipulating different points of the body.

Gait Analysis

– By studying the way a patient walks, we are able to assess many issues in the skeletal, muscular and nervous system. Analyzing the movements of a body, including walking stride, posture, and gait we are able to visualize the interactions of all bodily mechanic systems and document abnormalities, symptoms and changes.

Postural Training

– Our postural analysis process will allow us to locate the weaknesses in your posture that may be the cause of pain, the result of pain, or both. Poor posture habits are developed over time, and their effects can be surprisingly detrimental to your overall physical health. Postural training allows for a re-education of what it means to have good posture, and how to achieve better physical health through improved posturing.

Neuromuscular Re-education

– Neuromuscular re-education training allows for the increased ability to respond, spontaneously or purposefully, with balance, flexibility, and coordination. By retraining the spinal cord and brain, we aim to improve both voluntary movements and reflexive actions. Exercises and techniques utilized allow for the ability to respond, without injury or pain, while improving your physical abilities.

Muscle Energy Techniques

– Muscle Energy Techniques (MET) is a type of manual therapy, which varies in its administration, as the patient actively participates in the movements as opposed to passively being maneuvered. By using the patients contracting muscles to guide the lengthening of muscles, joints are mobilized and movement is gently normalized.

Nutrition Consultation

– Nutrition consultation is a key component in achieving fitness goals. From novice beginner, who hasn’t yet considered their nutritional habits and goals, to long-time athlete, our nutrition expert can help you achieve your unique health goals. Overall health is dependent on proper nutrition, and differing goals require different fuels – talking to our nutritional consultant will ensure you’re on the best path.

Sport Taping

– Sports Taping is a therapy that allows for the direct stabilization of the musculoskeletal system by means of applying athletic tape directly to the affected area. Sports Tape ensures the proper movement, support and positioning of specific body parts, allowing for recovery treatment of inflammation.
